Be ready to help

Most abducted children are found because someone recognized them and called.

If you see them

  1. Call 911 immediately. Say it's about an Amber Alert.
  2. Note the location, direction of travel and time.
  3. Write down the plate number if you can do it safely.
  4. Do not approach or follow the suspect.

When we issue an alert

  • A child under 18 is believed to have been abducted
  • The child is in danger of serious harm or death
  • There is enough descriptive information to help the public
  • The case has been entered into NCIC
